Friday Update 2-14-2020

1 Corinthians 13 "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres, love never fails."

Hello everyone:

It was COLD tonight and yet surprisingly enough there were plenty at the first stop..and thanks to the Greek Ladies they had a nice hot meal consisting of bread sticks, lots of desserts, salad and chicken and noodles!! We were not expecting many to show up given how cold it was, but then again there are those who ARE sleeping outside. One young man was literally shaking --his gloves were wet, and had no real coat on. Thankfully we had plenty of coats, gloves to get him somewhat warmer. His friend with him was so worried about him- they had a tent, but needed some more blankets so we gave them several. Another pair of men were so cold they were tearing up because they were worried where they could sleep and stay warm. For reasons we do not know they were unable to go to any shelters- so we did the best we could to get them a few items.

We also heard how one man is upset because he and his wife are getting a divorce- her decision which has him pretty upset. They have a child together and not sure how things will play out from here, but hoping he can find what strength he needs to make it through. Saw an old friend who we haven't seen in a long time. Have wondered where he has been and he said he's been in prison, but now is free. Such a nice man and again hoping he can get his life back on track and find some peace and healing.

Also we had a pretty big scare with another dear friend. He had gone in for a test and had a bad reaction to the dye used. He had to be intibated and put in a medical induced coma. It was very scary for all involved and we are thrilled to report he is doing well!! He is expected to make a full recovery and seeing him talking and laughing sure did our heart good. We talked about how thankful he was to know God at this time in his life and how satan has tried to kill him twice already, but he's not giving up. We also agreed that for many when something goes wrong they do not have time to have a talk with Jesus....and how unfortunate that is. We all can tend to think we have lots of time, and truly we do not know that. It's so important that we ALL take some time to accept Gods free gift of LOVE and forgiveness to us. Since none of us is perfect its a given we will hurt others and others will hurt us. Gods love is perfect though, and He will never hurt us and we can TRUST Him. So if you feel you have some things to make right between you and Jesus please do that now. Take time to invite Him in your entire life, to love you and give you the peace you need--- I promise you wont regret it!!
