Friday Update For Feb 5 2021

Walking In Obedience And Blessing

Hello Everyone, I hope everyone had a great church day today, so very grateful to be able to go worship our Lord and Savior Jesus! This past Friday evening was a great night but also a very short one. Toby and the gang put together all the delicious food with some hot buttery mashed potatoes with piles and piles of delicious meatballs smothered in swedish gravy. And had a ton of ham and cheese sandwiches for "take homes" or a late-night snack. So, thank you Toby and the gang - love you guys!

It's been some time since we have had such cold temps with a 30-40 mph wind chill - it felt like - 10 below! There was not much talking going on as the weather was just brutal for most folks, as we all gathered to eat and fellowship and all pray together. The time spent together was quite shorter than normal and quite understandable, but the time we had was quality time and so very thankful for it. When harsh weather comes upon us most, if not all, tend to hunker down before the sun goes down to generate some good heat within the tent or sleeping bags before its too late, if some good temps are not raised within a few hours of their sleeping space the situation becomes quite honestly, very dangerous. So that is why we broke early from the huddle and our time together was only about 45 minutes to an hour together but as we were packing up and breaking down our tables and gathering up all of our dinnerware and bagging up the trash we all held hands and prayed together, and let everyone know that they are TRULY LOVED BY GOD, we all said our goodbyes until Sunday church or next Friday evening when we do it all over again. But as I was leaving the church parking lot I headed towards Fulton street and something at the last second made me change my mind to turn around in the parking lot and head towards Ewing st and head north towards home. I was the last to leave the parking lot - and at this time it was just so cold and extremely windy and here comes our " one and only Jim ." He had walked 3.5 miles just to come to see us and to fellowship with everyone. If you live in Fort Wayne I know EVERYONE has seen Jim walking somewhere at some point and time. What a wonderful kind soul he is! Well, Jim got in my car and I had told him we had to cut the night a bit short due to the weather and besides everyone wanted to get hunkered down and get warm while they still could, and after all, everyone I believe had 2nd's of the mashed potatoes and meatballs and gravy - YEE HAW!!! If anyone knows Jim, when we first met him he was very shy and was not the person perhaps that would start a conversation - you would always have to initiate the beginning of all of the conversations - Well not anymore! I have - well, we ALL have seen what GOD'S LOVE can do to someone who maybe, just maybe has had somewhat of a rough road and uncertain circumstances throughout his life- with NONE of them being his choice or being self - inflicted. Jim has quite the story to tell.

So I will finish up with a great bible verse that we all know and love and is a wonderful reminder to all of us to LOVE, LOVE, and then LOVE some more to our brothers and sisters. 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Gina and I would like to praise and thank ALL of our friends who donate and serve within and to our ministry, we could not do it without ALL OF YOU and we love you for it. Forgive me in advance if I forget anyone; we are grateful for our home church, Pathway Community Church, Grace Summit Church, Hamilton Church of Christ, MJS Apparel, Toby and the Gang, Michael Jordan, Jacob Bloomfield, Lance Welborn. Enjoy the Super Bowl tonight and hopefully some good food as well. Thank you, everyone, and talk soon. Tommy
