Hello Everyone,

Tonight, Granite Ridge fed everyone AMAZING fried chicken, beans, fruit, chips, cookies and the best part popsicles! Thank you so much Granite Ridge for bringing a full hot meal. We had around 120-130 people show up and thankfully everyone was able to get a full plate.

An old friend showed up telling us why we haven’t seen him for a while.......he now has his own place and is doing well. He is clean and sober, has a job and is finally feeling that life is looking good. He looks and sounds good and those are the stories we love to hear. So many do not make it off the streets, and at times the ones who do, struggle to do life indoors as strange as that may sound. Our friend said that he makes enough to pay his bills, but struggles with food. We assured him he doesn’t have to struggle in that area there is help always if he needs it.

Then out of nowhere I made a new little friend. She is the daughter of an old friend of ours- and let me tell you her eyes are as blue as the ocean!! We had quite the conversation for over a hour! She then looked up at the clouds and asked why they were moving. She started counting as they blew around. So, as you can see in the picture, we decided to lay down on the ground and count the moving clouds together. If you’re wondering why there was a paper plate under her head (we didn’t have any cushions, so I gave her a plate) As we laid there, she started counting out-loud and so I joined in. She then had to go home, and we said goodbye till next time.

It’s been since I was in my teens that I laid down on the ground and watched the clouds and I'm glad I did. Sometimes I think we can get so busy doing the adult life thing that we forget what the world looks like to those who are little. It’s important to stop and just look around and see Gods creation in all ways. So that’s my little new friend and I hope she comes back!!

Seemed tonight the needs were tents, shorts, batteries, deodorant, and blankets. We currently need men’s shorts, sunglasses, bug spray, men’s boxers and underwear (sizes large and up) and toilet paper. We appreciate everyone donating. Please also pray for continued peace downtown. Pray for those who struggle without knowing where they will sleep. Those who are struggling with mental illness and are mad at the world. Pray for those who are struggling to believe God loves them.

Thank you everyone for keeping our vans filled so we can mee the needs of our friends!
