Friday Update for 7-31-2020

Hello Everyone:

It was nice to be back with our friends after being gone for two weeks. Thanks to our wonderful team the schedule carried on as usual. Tonight Granite Ridge Builders , Kathy Coughlin Hartman, Lauren Hartman, Lonnie Norris, Jill Sample for bringing pulled pork sandwiches, watermelon, cookies and drinks. Everyone was able to be feed and we were able to feed a few who didn't make it in time for dinner. Thank you so much Granite Ridge for all you do.

We were able to meet a few new people and help them with some items they needed. Big item tonight was socks and blankets and as always we had plenty!! Renee Liechty Kahn thank you for the snack bags each week, so many are dependent on those and were so thankful you make them for us! Jim was pretty happy to get a brand new pair of shoes from Kathy tonight and as always Jim gave us his old ones in case we felt someone else could use them. He never asks for anything except a snack bag, so to be able to give him something was awesome!

Listened as one lady shared how frustrated she is that she is again homeless. She shared how addiction is not a issue for her, just trying to stay housed is hard. Even when a person gets a job its hard to save up enough money for a deposit, or gt utilities in their name....its very hard to get out of a deep hole when your stuck in one. We were able to give her a tent and some blankets tonight and love on her some.

We also were able to celebrate Lance Welborn birthday with cake, candles and some so-so singing. He is always willing to help us and hes worked hard on his recovery and is doing great. Its been amazing to see how God has been working in his life and its just more proof when you hand your life over to God fully He will enable you to do what is needed. So happy birthday Lance Welborn we all love you!!

We talked tonight how God will bring good out the hard things we go through, and that He is ENOUGH!!!! Sometimes we just need reminded that He can handle all things on our behalf--we just need to let Him do it!!
