Friday Update 5-29-2020

Hi Everyone,

The weather started out perfect for getting together, connecting with friends and sharing a meal. I always look forward to seeing familiar faces and chatting about life with them and then, also, meeting new friends and hearing their stories.

Blessed Portion Provided plenty of pizzas, chips, cookies, fresh fruit and water. (Thanks to all that donate to this ministry)!!

After we ate we passed out items to those who needed things and then we gathered for prayer and, as we did that, we could hear the sirens continue to make their way downtown...just blocks from us. We stood together (all of us, from all walks of life) in a circle and Gina reminded us that our God is a loving and caring God. He loves all people and all people matter to Him. So, in the midst of confusion and uncertainty and unrest we prayed. We prayed for peace. We pray for protection for our friends and for our community. I was reminded of Psalm 56:3 “When I am afraid, I put my trust in You (God).” I’m writing this on behalf of the Blessed Portion Ministries so I’ll take a liberty & say that I’m so thankful for the work they are doing and the blessing it has been to be a part of it. Thank you, again, to all of you who have given, donated and served.
