Friday Update 3-26-2021

Hello Everyone,

(Post by Lance Welborn)

Friday night at Fulton in Wayne turned out to be a very good night for Fellowship in prayer. Granite Ridge Builders cooked dinner for those individuals that are homeless or just down on their luck. Dinner consisted of meatloaf, mashed potatoes with cheese, corn, cookies, and water.

We started the night in prayer and sharing the gospel with those in need. Sometimes I find that just listening to someone tell their worries, concerns or situations is the best thing that a person could do for another.

The message was given by Rochelle about getting out of our comfort zone, selfishness, pay attention, and lend a listening ear to those who Jesus puts in our path on a daily basis that might need help. To stop only thinking about ourselves, and realize helping others actually helps us spiritually as well because we're doing what God asks of us. I met two gentlemen who were out of New York and in their travels, all their stuff got stolen. Blessed Portion was able to help the gentlemen with clothes, backpacks, blankets, socks, and personal hygiene products. The two gentlemen were very grateful and were glad that someone was there to help them in their time of need.

We can't think that we're ever too busy or just don't feel like helping someone, because we might just have a major impact on their life.

Thank you for everyone who helped tonight.
