Blessed Portion Update 4-16-2021

Hello Everyone,

Tonight thanks to Hallmark Mortgage, Traci White and her team, and Tammy Duvall for making bbq chicken sandwiches, cookies, water, chips, and macaroni salad and we had plenty to give away and some extra for a few friends who needed some food at home. It's wonderful to see how all of us coming together makes a difference. Love is free to give and I hope we all can get better at giving love away!

We saw a friend of ours who lost his toes a while back and tonight as always he was smiling and in a good mood. He is always happy and he's always nice to see. Also saw a friend who we haven't seen in years and it was nice to see how well he is doing. We also got to see sweet little Eliza do her best dancing at 18 months....love those little friends of ours.

Tonight we talked about how satan does his best to name us based on our bad choices and or bad things that have happened to us. This past week a friend of mine and I prayed with a friend and she brought up how satan tries to name us and we let him. What she said really stuck with me and so I shared it. tonight. So many times I hear " I am....... an alcoholic, drug addict, a rape survivor, a murderer, a child molester etc." While those things may be a part of someone's life the first and foremost thing to name ourselves if we are Christ-followers is " I am a child of God" who struggles with (whatever it is) We tend to give ourselves labels and or give others labels instead of who we are through Christ first. Words hurt and can take a lifetime to overcome. So to love as Jesus does we need to watch our words about others and ourselves. We all struggle with something, but that is not how we should define ourselves. So we talked about that more in-depth and ended with some prayer requests. One was for a friend to help with her with a ex and help getting her kids back. Another one was for healing for a friend- and so we prayed together for those.

We had a great night tonight all the way around and had Blackhawk Christian Schools basketball team come to serve with their coach and it was great to see them. hopefully, the evening left a positive mark on them. Thank you everyone for your donations and help each week. Good things are happening and we still know God is on the move!!
