friday update

Blessed Portion Friday Update 4-26-19

Hello Everyone,

Tonight we had Braised Beef Tips, Whipped Potatoes, Tossed Salad with 3 dressings, Vegetable Medley, Rice, and dinner rolls cooked and provided by Fort Wayne Country Club....Aaron Parkinson. The dinner was amazing and plenty to go around...cannot thank Aaron enough for his hard work and generosity in providing this meal. Thank you for serving 150 people tonight!!

Tonight we saw a lot of people and met some new friends. We had some challenges tonight but this Jesus Calling devotion seemed to be exactly what we needed to hear to remind us of how to handle those challenges. We ALL have those days that we think " I just want this to be over" don't we? Those days where we think "What in the world is all this about?" Amazingly and thankfully though Jesus does allow those to teach us IF we are willing to learn.

At the end of the night we stopped by to check on a friend who sleeps at a spot he has for many years. Saw him earlier in the evening and wasn't able to get a meal so we stopped by and gave him some cookies and a couple snack bags. He had a sheet to cover his eyes from the bright light he sleeps under and he said he was a little chilly. We talked with him for a few and let him get to sleep. This man NEVER asks for anything and I mean NEVER!! He always is smiling and never complains. He isn't able to do much work as he has some disabilities and it's hard to see someone fall between the cracks so to speak. We are thankful though we have known him for over 20 years and he is still the same man he always has been. We walked off as he rolled back over and covered his eyes and it was sad.... praying God protects him.

We had a good night though despite some challenges and thankful God has allowed us to meet those we now know and we pray for Gods continued direction and wisdom for those we serve and for us as well!!
