Update Blessed Portion Ministries--Another beautiful night to serve. The weather was awesome and so are the people we serve and those who serve with us. Tonight our friends served pulled pork sandwiches with macaroni and potato salad, chips, cookies and plenty of love. We had a great turn out and as we prayed Psalms 27:1-6 was the message that lead us to Remember that although many foes and armies surround. God will always be there to defend us, so instead of being afraid let us lift up our hand and praise the Lord. Several people needed prayer and this verse fit well to remind us to trust God no matter what we are facing in our lives. We are always blessed by those we serve and last night was no exception. Our friend Anthony who has shared his life stories and faith with us has been struggling with ability to walk, first hunched over and through the week's gaining strength not only in His faith by also in His body. That being said, Anthony demonstrated his ability to set aside his walker tonight and take steps (similar to his life) in the right direction. Like so many at the mission we a proud of his journey, faith and determination not to give up even when life is difficult, proving again that God is faithful. Another friend of ours Marcus was a blessing to see because even though he may not be ready for change he indicates that we are always a blessing to him and we love to let Him know we love him and that God loves Him as well. Finally, we met two gentlemen hanging out in the park that bless all of us just as much as we did them. One of the men shared that God is love among so many other attributes of who He Is to Him and all of us. This night was such a blessing, thank you again Gina and Tommy for allowing me to fill your shoes for the night, it is always a priviledge. Thanks also to Lori Williams, Jacquie Aldrich, Amber Gaskill, Christina Scheiber and Tobey, as well as our ministry children and all those who continue to bless and support this ministry. God bless you all
