Friday Update 2-21-2020

Ephesians 1:16-23 "I couldn't stop thanking God for you every time I prayed, I'd think of you and give thanks. But I do more than thank. I ask- ask the God of our Master, Jesus Christ, the God of glory- to make you intelligent and discerning in knowing him personally, your eyes focused and CLEAR, SO THAT YOU CAN SEE EXACTLY WHAT IT IS HE IS CALLING YOU TO DO, grasp the immensity of this glorious way of life he has for Christians, oh the utter extravagance of his work in us who trust him- endless energy, boundless strength.

Hello Everyone,

We had Chili dogs (everyone got 2), macaroni and cheese, tons of sweets and lots to drink thanks to Hallmark Home Mortgage-NMLS#53441, Tracy White, Maria Rios, Ellen Hackett, Jordan Hackett,Shelby Mansfield, Leah Mansfield, Julie Barkley, Tracy Whan and all those who helped them. They are a awesome addition to this ministry and they come well prepared to feed the masses and we couldn't be more thankful!!

Heard tonight how a friends Granddaughter has about 2 days to live. She was born with some major health issues and we definitely need to pray for him, his grand daughter and her parents- cannot imagine the pain they are going through right now. Also saw an old friend who has struggled with years of alcohol and drug abuse. He is always upfront about his addictions and his short comings and his faith. Just because his addictions are in high demand of his time and finances doesn't mean that one doesn't have a faith....it just means their addiction has taken over their life and they need help. Very hard to see people you love be mastered by something that will kill them.

Also spent some time with a friend who has been let down, hurt, betrayed, abandoned and struggles with trust, and the belief that God loves him and there is hope. In good ole mom fashion we let him know this world is full of bad things, people let us down....but there is a God who sees, hears and helps if we allow Him too. Told him its time to get on with the understanding and belief in the man God has made him to be and give God a chance- hoping this is the start of some more peaceful days for him.

We shared tonight how I found out this morning I have to have bifocals--not too happy about. I have used readers for many years and its now to the point at night sometimes things are blurry, eating a meal is blurry, and watching tv can be blurry for me. Went to the eye Dr and after a major bill and a few exams I now have a prescription. For me having glasses will keep me and others safe on the road, help me have less headaches etc. In the same way keeping our focus clear on Jesus in this life it will cost us time, money, desires, relationships, humbling ourselves, but it's so worth it- there's safety and freedom in that!!

Thank you to Pathway Community Church, Grace Summit Church, Hamilton Church of Christ, Hallmark Home Mortgage-NMLS#53441, Jordan Bowers, Scott Wright, Lori Williams, Kristy L. Stemen, Maria Christina Aldrete, Stacy Bird, Rochelle Bloomfield-Wilson, Christina Scheiber, Michael Casiano, and all of you who continue to donate items for those we serve, for those who make lunches for our friends each Sunday, for those who help us get people to church each week.
